A Little About Me

I’m Bhakti or Bathsheva, as I’m lovingly known through my work. I grew up in a culturally rich, multi-layered family, and I think that has stayed with me in the way I see people and stories. I have a degree in law, but during my final year of college, I decided to follow my heart into photography. I haven’t looked back since. What began as a passion has grown into a decade-long joy ride, a career built around stories, emotions, curiosity and, most of all, people. I call myself a people photographer. People have always fascinated me. We’re all made up of layers, contradictions, little quirks and beautiful shades, and I love discovering those through my photographs. Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of photographing people and their stories across India, Israel and Canada, from weddings and couple shoots to portraits and everything in between. As a wedding photographer in Pune, I’m less interested in creating photographs that simply look beautiful and more interested in photographs that feel like something. A glance, a nervous laugh, a hand held a little tighter, a parent trying not to cry, friends being ridiculous on the dance floor. The things that often happen quietly, in between everything else. For me, photography is about being present enough to notice those moments. Beyond the camera, I’m someone who loves driving without much of a plan, playing chess to unwind, painting when I need to sort through my thoughts, and picking up new languages just because they fascinate me. And then there’s cooking. And eating. Both with equal enthusiasm. At Bathsheva Pictures & Films, we believe the best photographs and films come from honest, uninterrupted moments. A wedding is a whole universe of emotions packed into a single day. There is excitement, chaos, anticipation, laughter, nerves, happy tears, old friendships, new beginnings and a hundred little stories unfolding at once. As a team, we don’t just want to photograph those things from the outside. We want to be there with you, to witness them, feel them and become a small part of the story. We laugh with you. We might tear up with you. We dance, run around, troubleshoot when things go slightly off plan and, through it all, keep looking for those little moments that you may not even realise happened. Our aim is simple: to create photographs and films that don't just remind you what your wedding looked like, but take you back to how it felt. We’re based in Pune, India, and travel across India and around the world to photograph stories we believe are worth telling. If you’re looking for someone to document your wedding, your people and all the beautiful chaos in between, we’d be honoured to be a part of it.

Because all things beautiful start with a hello !
